'Merican Man rock cairns on Spectacle head Trail in Cupids




The Spectacle Head Trail starts on the north side of Cupids Harbour near the fish plant.

The term 'Merican Man, which is used to refer to stone markers in many Newfoundland communities, may have originated from the word "cairn." You can see from the above right photo that some cairns are more than five feet across.
